As we enter the holiday season, it’s so fun to be with family and friends to celebrate. But I, as many others I imagine, feel very reflective. I’ve been jotting down notes for my new years resolutions, hearing about vision boards, and thinking back to my experiences this past year.
I love hearing advice from the sage authors and artists of past and present. Such inspiration! My hopes for 2013 involve career accomplishments, finishing things I’ve started, travel, being grateful, and having courage. Here are a few pieces of advice that I’ve been reflecting on the past few weeks.
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
“Dare to live the life you have dreamed for yourself. Go forward and make your dreams come true.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
“It takes a lot of courage to show your dreams to someone else. ” – Erma Bombeck
“I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” - Jeremiah 29:11
“Let go of the past and go for the future. Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you imagined.” – Henry David Thoreau
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
Are you working on your new years resolutions? What quotes or pieces of advice really inspire you?

I like your reflections and inspirations. I think 2013 for me is about embracing our new life and my career as a full time writer. I do need some signposts and landmarks to give me goals by which to mark progress. That’s where I will start. Stay tuned. For my inspiration – from The Silver Chair, Aslan to Jill: “You would not have been calling to me unless I were calling to you.”
Oh – I like that bit from the Silver Chair. I just might add Narnia to my list of “to read again soon”. Excited to follow the new plans and progress
